Family Traveller

I traveled with my family to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and had a great time. It is a good trip for a family. My children enjoyed this trip. There were a lot of ancient sites and churches that we saw, but we didn’t get bored, they were all different. The nature was very nice. We loved the hotels where we stayed. They had everything for a comfortable stay. The restaurants where we ate were also nice, the food was lovely, and service was decent. Our guide made sure we had a nice time and helped us a lot with our questions. Recommended.

I recently took a trip to 3 countries in the Caucasus: Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia. This was a unique travel experience because of diversity. Azerbaijan and Baku had more up to date, and more modern style. Although there were also historic parts of the old city in Baku. Georgia has a rich history, and diverse nature and landscapes. The black sea, the mountains and landscapes were all nice in their way. And Armenia also has a lot of historic and religious heritage, nature and amazing views. However these vary in Armenia and Georgia. I also tasted cousins in all countries and we loved a lot of dishes we tried. This was a great trip.

Hi, apologies its so late but here’s my feed back.
Hotel in Yeravan ( cascade hotel) was clean, English speaking and friendly staff. Breakfast was fine. The shower was minus a curtain so the floor got pretty wet on showering. Tge beds were extremely hard and there was no heating available as mid may is considered Sumner and they turn off the heating. There were no blankets available. Location is excellent.
Imperial Hotel, huge rooms, shower was broken, very strong smell of cigarettes throughout the hotel. Didn’t have the breakfast. Staff had very little English and weren’t very friendly.
Arthur as a guide and driver was excellent. Very easy to talk to, polite and respectful. 10/10.
Content of tour was good. The wine tasting could have included a cheese platter and the grand reserve red wine.
I would have liked a night staying at another town so one less night in Yeravan.
Border crossing great, with driver waiting with sign the other side. Very good driver, he pointed out sights to me which I appreciate.
Tbilisi hotel felt more like a backpackers, parties were held in reception area until 2am on 2 nights and my room was close by. One of the members of staff was very rude, but the manager was good. Location was good but my preference would have been more in the old town. The room was fine, could have been cleaner, again hard bed and cold with no extra blankets. Breakfast was passable.
One guide/driver great guy but English not great therefor not much information given. Also it was an 8 hr day, no lunch break or stops for toilet.
Had George for 2 days, great guide, again maybe a night in Kasheti would have been nice. Excellent wine tour.
Bit of a screw up with hotels in Baku, walking around the city at 2.30am with luggage was not ideal. I had been booked into a different hotel from the one I was taken to. Hotel staff excellent, very good English, helpful. Location was ok, again would prefer the old Town. Small room for 5 nights, had breakfast once, good.
Guide was excellent, the driver was excellent as well. Unfortunately they did have to hang around for some people on tour, they been to be firmer and say they will leave if not back in time. Contents of tour was good, so much information.
I recommend saying minimum number on your, I couldn’t see this in your Ts and Cs.
Also worth adding that if there is no one to share a room either even though your happy to do so, you will been to pay a single supplement. Most tour companies will not charge you if they can’t find anyone for you to share with. Also worth stating that with the single supplement depending on the hotel you could be in a single or double room.
Also in all the hotels the towel was changed but the room was not cleaned or bed made. While this didn’t bother me it would some people especially after 4 days. This was in all 3 countries.
I would recommend cascade to friends and I was so impressed with your communication and attention to detail and help pre arrival.
If you need any more feedback I’m happy to supply. Also I haven’t received any refund in my account as yet.
Hope all is well with you
Best wishes
Sara

The trip was really nice. At first we thought three countries at a time was a lot but decided to go for it anyway. It was well organized and we didn’t even get tired. It’s an interesting experience though, because all three countries had different things to offer and that’s what makes it so fun!! In Azerbaijan we have been in the capital city Baku, which is a very modern up to date city, with skyscrapers. However the blend with the old city makes it even more interesting. In Baku we enjoyed the evening walk around the sea on the boulevard. Next destination is Georgia. The homemade lunch at a local Georgian household was a perfect start for this part of the trip. Georgian cuisine is definitely one of a kind, something we never tried before. Next we were in Tbilisi, and here we loved the old city with the tiny streets and the old balconies and cafes. In Georgia we particularly enjoyed the cathedrals, and monasteries. Also the views over the Kazbek mountain were out of this world. And last but not least is Armenia, our final destination. Armenia is a mixture of culture, history, religion, gorgeous nature and great food. We visited a lot of monasteries and churches with beautiful architecture and rich historical background. The roads of Armenia are very enjoyable accompanied with views over landscapes and forests and mountains. Lake Sevan was very beautiful as well. We also enjoyed our time in Yerevan, with a great atmosphere and beautiful center. Overall we had a blast, and will return for sure!!
