Day by day itinerary

Day 1Arrival - Free Day in Tbilisi

Arrival in Tbilisi, we will be delighted to meet you and greet you at the airport and organize an individual transfer to your hotel in the heart of the city. You have a spare day to get a rest from the flight and enjoy the city’s lively atmosphere. The old town is amazing with its narrow cobbled streets, colorful houses, open-air cafes, wine bars live music clubs, etc. Be prepared for a welcome dinner in a Georgian traditional restaurant with wine and a folk show.

Day 2Tbilisi city tour

This day is dedicated to Tbilisi a mixture of cultures and religions, where you can find Armenian Apostolic and Roman Catholic Churches, Jewish SInagoge, and Persian Mosque along with Georgian Orthodox Churches. We will start at Metekhi Church of the 12th century, then will continue to Narikala Fortress on the hill which provides an excellent view over the city. After lunch in a Georgian traditional restaurant, we continue to SIoni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Church 6th century. Not to be missed a “Peace Bridge” over the Kura River and Georgia National Museum. To top off our day of exploration, we will take a cable car to the viewpoint of Tbilisi where we will have a chance to marvel at the panoramic views of the city. From this vantage point, we will be able to appreciate the beauty and grandeur of Tbilisi in all its glory

Day 3Sighnaghi - Tsinandali Estate - Telavi

Today we start a delightful two-day trip to Kakheti a wine region of Georgia with small cozy towns, endless vineyards, and hundreds of wineries. Our first stop is the charming hill town of Sighnaghi, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Alazani Valley and the Eastern Caucasus Mountains. Here we will have a wine-tasting experience in a family-run winery. Our journey continues to the Tsinandali Estate, once the residence of a noble family in the 19th century. Immerse yourself in the history and elegance of this remarkable estate. We continue to Telavy another cozy red-roofed city of Kakheti to take a leisurely walk in the city with cobbled streets small houses with decorated wooden balconies, and wineries and winebars in each corner. Time permitting visit Telavi bazaar, where you can find everything under one roof, fresh fruits, veggies, spices, nuts fruits, and Georgian famous sweets Churchkhekas (nuts in fruit juices).

Day 4Gremi Church of Archangels - Khinkali Cooking Class - Alaverdi Cathedral

After breakfast and fresh coffee, we will start our tour of the Gremi Church of Archangels and the Royal Tower of the 16th century. We will visit a local winery for another wine-tasting experience. At the winery, we will have a cooking class where we will learn to make Khinkali (meat dumplings), bake bread, and make Georgian famous sweets called churchkhela.  After wine tasting and cooing, we continue to the Alaverdi Cathedral of the 11th century. We will have a healthy lunch in a family-run restaurant and continue our road via picturesque Gombori Pass a hilly mountain serpentine to cozy Shuamta Monastery located in a thick forest. In the evening we will return back to Tbilisi for rest and overnight

Day 5Mtskheta - Jvari Monastery

The morning we start our trip to Mtskheta city, visit Svetitskhovely Cathedral and Jvari Monastery both listed as UNESCO world heritage sites. An amazing view over the junction of the Kura and Aragvi rivers opens from the hilltop where Jvari Monastery is located. We continue to the Royan Chateau Mukhrani built in the 19th century by French architects of Georgian Prince Ivane Bagration of Mukhrani. Here we will have wine tasting and lunch. We continue our trip to Kazbegi by the breathtaking Georgian Military Highway, a scenic route that stretches from Tbilisi to the Russian border. This road trip will become your brightest memory, it takes us through picturesque valleys, hilly serpentines, and charming villages to Mount Kazbegi of 5057 m. En route, we will visit Ananuri fortress standing next to the azure JInvali Reservoir. We will have an overnight in Kazbegi.

Day 6Gergeti Trinity Church - Khachapuri Cooking Class

Moring opens with an amazing view over Mount Kazbeg with all its beauty and magnificence, if we are lucky enough to have a clear day. After breakfast and fresh coffee we will we will our trip to Gergeti Trinity Church at 2150 m. Though all religious services were forbidden in the Soviet era Gergeti Trinity remained a beloved church for all pilgrims in Georgia. We will take a downhill ride to Kazbegi or Stepantsminda village to be beloved guests for a Georgian family where we will have a khachapuri cooking class. dough with cheese, the beloved dish in Georgia, different regions in Georgia make it with their own recipe (cheese inside, on the dough, with eggs, etc. Lunch will be served in the same house. Evening we will return to Tbilisi to spend our tris last evening in this vibrant city.

Azerbaijan tour extension

Please note that the tour can be extended to Azerbaijan. The transfer to Azerbaijan is available by air only.  Air tickets vary from 95 – 200 USD. 

Azerbaijan requires an E-visa for most of the countries’ passport holders. Visa fee and support service are included in the tour price.

Azerbaijan tour

Duration:  3 days/2 nights
Day 1: Baku city tour

Arrival at Heidar Aliyev International Airport. Your driver will meet you and transfer to the hotel.  After check-in, you will start the Baku city tour. You will begin by exploring Icheri Sheher, the historic old town. The tour to Azerbaijan will then take you to notable landmarks such as Shirvan Shahs’ Palace, Caravanserai, and Maiden Tower.
Don’t forget to visit the main market square featuring numerous art studios and souvenir boots. New Baku is definitely worth attention to, where you will explore Nizami Street and Fountain Square. An excellent round-up to the city tour will be a visit to the iconic Heydar Aliyev Center.

Day 2: Baku – Absheron Peninsula – Gobustan – Baku

This day is dedicated to exploring the Absherun Peninsula. Our first stop is Yanardag Mountain, a place of perpetual burning fire that never extinguished. Then continue to the Ateshgah Fire Temple, historically used as a Hindu, Sikh, and Zoroastrian place of worship, according to Indian inscriptions. Nowadays Indian Zoroastrians travel thousands of kilometers to Ateshgah to worship the fire coming out of the earth. 

After a  lunch break,  we head to Gobustan National Park. Here, you’ll visit the Petroglyphs Museum which holds artifacts dating back to 10,000 BC. 

Weather permitting, drive to mud volcanoes in Gobustan Reserve (possible car change due to the road conditions). Gobustan is renowned for hosting almost half of the world’s mud volcanoes.  Return to Baku in the evening.

Health 

Your health and well-being are important during your travels in Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia. Here are a few health-related tips to help you prepare for your journey:

  • Altitude: Some areas, particularly in Armenia and Georgia, can be at higher altitudes (above 2,400 meters). If you have concerns about high altitudes, especially respiratory,  heart conditions, or high blood pressure consult your doctor beforehand. 
  • Medications: If you take any prescription medications, be sure to bring enough for the entire trip, as well as any necessary documentation. It’s also a good idea to carry a small first-aid kit with essentials like pain relievers, bandages, and hand sanitizer.
  • Water and Food: Tap water in Armenia is generally safe to drink, and you’ll also find many public drinking fountains throughout the country, especially in cities and towns, where you can refill your bottle for free. In Georgia and Azerbaijan, it’s advisable to drink bottled water. Local food is mostly local dishes are mostly pleasing to the European palate․ Bees, lamb, and pork are widely used in meals as well as beans, veggies, greens, and fruits. 
  • Climate: The weather can vary depending on the time of year and region. Summers can be hot (32-36°C), especially in lowland areas of Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan, while mountainous regions may be cooler. It’s important to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and dress in layers to adjust to changing temperatures.

Taxis are generally safe and widely available in cities, often found on nearly every corner. For added convenience and safety, we recommend downloading the Yandex Taxi application, which is available in all three countries.  This app allows you to book rides without the need to bargain, ensuring transparent pricing and reliable service.

Visa and Entry Requirements
  • Armenia and Georgia: Citizens of the USA, the UK, Australia, UAE, and EU member countries are exempt from visas for stays of up to 90 days in Armenia and Georgia. However, confirming the latest requirements before your departure is always a good idea, you can always check with your tour manager. 
  • Azerbaijan: An e-visa is required for travelers visiting Azerbaijan. We provide full Azerbaijan visa support and will need documents to apply for your visa. The visa fee is included in the tour price. 
Travel Insurance

Although travel insurance is not required by law in these countries, it’s always better to be safe and prepared for any unexpected situations during your trip.

  • Armenia – Armenian Dram (AMD).
  • Georgia – Georgian Lari (GEL).
  • Azerbaijan – Azerbaijani Manat (AZN).

Card payment is available in major cities, In all three countries, Visa, Mastercard & AMEX are acceptable. The bank may charge a fee for overseas withdrawals. ATMs are accessible in most of the regional towns, however, when traveling to regions and rural areas it is recommended to have cash in local currency. A balanced mix of cards and cash is the ideal approach. Exchange points with good rates are available in the capital cities.

Solo Travelers

We warmly welcome solo travelers on all our tours! Please note that if you are traveling solo, a single supplement (single room and shared double room per person price difference) is mandatory, and an additional fee will apply. However, if there is another solo traveler of the same gender in your group, we will ask if they are open to sharing a twin room. If both parties agree, we’ll book a twin room, thus you’ll avoid paying the single supplement.

For accommodations in cities, we carefully select tried-and-tested hotels that are centrally located, ensuring you’re near the heart of the city and its main attractions.

In regional areas, we choose the best options within the price segment, providing a comfortable stay that blends relaxation with a unique local experience. Each property is chosen to ensure a balance of quality, convenience, and memorable hospitality.

Tour Transportation

We ensure comfortable and efficient transportation tailored to the size of your group:

  • For 2-3 participants, a professional guide-driver will accompany you throughout the journey.
  • For 4-5 participants, a spacious minivan will be provided.
  • For groups of 6-13 participants, a comfortable 20-seater minibus will be arranged.

All vehicles are well-maintained and air-conditioned to ensure a smooth and enjoyable travel experience.

Airport Transfers

In all our tours we include airport transfers: 

We will meet you with the Cascade Travel sign if nothing additional is communicated to you. Alternatively, find your name printed on A4 paper. If you cannot find the company of your name sign within 15 minutes after entering the airport arrival hall, call the emergency contact number listed above.

Your arrival transfer is arranged based on the flight information provided to us. If your flight schedule changes or is canceled within 48 hours of arrival, provide the info via email. If you don’t inform us, we will not be able to arrange the transfer, and you’ll need to make your way to the starting hotel at your own expense.

Meals

During your trip, meals are carefully selected to offer a taste of the local cuisine. You’ll enjoy a variety of traditional dishes that showcase the rich culinary heritage of Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.

Some meals are included in your tour package, typically breakfast and a selection of local lunches or dinners. For meals not included in the tour price.

These countries are also vegetarian-friendly, with many delicious plant-based options available throughout your journey.

Tipping is appreciated for good service, though it is not mandatory. Here are some general guidelines to help you. Tipping is usually done at the end of the tour, in cash, directly to the guide and driver.

  • Guide: 4-5 USD per day for your guide is a fair amount, depending on the quality of service. If you feel the guide has gone above and beyond, you may tip more.
  • Driver:  2-3 USD per day is recommended, though this can be adjusted based on the level of service provided.
